Affirmative Therapy
Affirmative therapy can be a distinct intervention or can occur within the context of individual therapy. It is about empowering diversity in those who may have been pathologized concerning their ethnicity, gender, orientation or identity and emphasizes acceptance as well as self and cultural awareness, free of discrimination and bias.
Teletherapy
Telehealth is a great supplement to in-person sessions when challenges arise and also an option for a stand alone treatment method if you live in an under-served area or have physical challenges that make it difficult to travel to a physical location.

Individual Therapy
In individual therapy, the client and the therapist work together to create goals based on the client's needs. These goals can range from improving the quality of life, increasing motivation for change, tackling mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, increase self esteem and compassion, healthy decision making, or even simply as a self care practice or space for reflection.
Eating Disorder Treatment
Treatment for eating disorders involves aspects of both individual and family therapy but incorporates a wider treatment team approach involving dieticians, primary care physicians, psychiatrists and a therapist. This can also include regular assessments, referrals for inpatient treatment, and a more directive approach in the therapy room. Due to the high risks associated with the physical of health of those suffering from eating disorders, it is important to have trained practitioners who are well versed in the special needs of this population. If you are concerned that you or a loved one may be dealing with or is at risk for an eating disorder please visit the Resources page to learn more. My scope of practice includes:
Anorexia Nervosa
Atypical Anorexia
Bulimia Nervosa
Binge Eating Disorder
ARFID in adults
Eating disorders Not Otherwise Specified
Orthorexia
Body Dysmorphic Disorder
Family Therapy
Family therapy can enhance the effectiveness of individual therapy and can be practiced on a regular basis or even as a supplement to individual therapy. We are influenced and affected by those around us and family therapy can provide the space to improve communication, develop understanding, problem solve in a safe space, and develop new skills for improved interactions.
