Welcome

Therapy Is:

  • Developing a trusting relationship
  • A mutual exploration of patterns or behaviors that are causing distress
  • A place to learn about yourself and to develop needed skills to navigate the world in a healthy way
  • A safe place to be who you are, without judgement or fear
  • Developing emotional resilience
  • Accountability and support
  • Self care
  • A process

Therapy Is Not:

  • Only for "some" people
  • The same for everyone
  • Being told what to do
  • An expert judging you
  • Being "fixed"
  • Just a place to vent
  • Blaming your parents for everything
  • An easy or passive process
  • Mind reading
  • Diagnosing and labeling

Welcome

If you've made it this far it means you're at least considering that therapy may be an option for you. If you've never been in therapy before, or had poor experiences in the past, it can be unnerving to start the process and easy to make assumptions about what therapy actual is and who it is for.

The reality is that therapy can benefit anyone, at any stage of life. It is a scientifically proven process that teaches you about how the mind works and the promotes the development of skills to improve your life and help you be the healthiest version of yourself.
